Flooring it to the future!

In light of current events here at RMF we have decided to focus on some of our wins and progress made this year and we fully intend to keep our eyes set on the future and the opportunities it will bring.

To kick off we are delighted to have been shortlisted for two awards in Q1, firstly we are a finalist for the Constructing Excellence SME of The Year Award. We are honoured to have been selected as a finalist as culture and our people are at the heart of what and who we are at RMF. In real terms what does people and culture really mean? To us at RMF it means developing our people we have had three internal promotions across logistics, contracts and our estimating teams. We invest in our people via professional qualifications, flexibility around family lives and other commitments and the beauty of being an SME we actually get to know each other on a human level. At RMF we operate an open door policy and all leadership and strategic decisions are where possible shared with employees, we build our business forward working together and that is something our directors and co-owners Simon and Ian have always kept at the core of RMF.

We have also been selected as a finalist for the National Building and Construction Awards in the category ‘Green Sustainability Award’ this is in relation to our RMF Eco Range. Over the past 7 years we have been able to save millions of raised floor panels from entering landfill and we have furthered our commitment to a ‘green agenda’ via our membership to the UK British Green Council. Our work with UKGBC will allow us to develop our sector knowledge and allow us to give back via our experience in the re-use of materials space. Moreover we have partnered with Encore Environment as part of their new ‘game changers’ initiative and on its launch we will form part of the power panel aiming to change the environmental impact of the construction sector from the top down.

We are delighted that our sporting commitments continue to go from strength to strength firstly with our very own contracts manager Andy Yeates team Long Buckby FC leading the way with a strong start to the season, we are proud to support a fantastic local team and we have no doubt the RMF mini bus will be back in action soon. Our player sponsorship at Wasps rugby has also added value to the RMF Team with many of us attending the matches and we look forward to hosting clients back at the Ricoh again soon.

We fully appreciate that these are challenging times for the construction industry and we will continue to follow government guidance on site. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the RMF team for their positivity, resilience and commitment during this time. For the time being the office team are all working remotely but we can be contacted as normal.
