Sugar Island CAT-A

RMF were delighted to have been awarded the raised flooring works for a CAT-A fit out for a commercial office space on Sugar Island, central London. The client needed RMF's skill and expertise to complete the CAT-A finish to a high standard to ensure the client could let the space with ease. RMF's scope of works were as follows;

Ground floor - 30m2 of screwed down medium duty raised floor in lift, WC and lobby areas

First floor - 517 m2 of medium duty raised flooring and an additional 30m2 of screwed down medium duty raised floor in lift, WC and lobby areas

Second floor - 515 m2 of medium duty raised flooring and an additional 30m2 of screwed down medium duty raised floor in lift, WC and lobby areas

Third floor - 424 m2 of medium duty raised flooring and an additional 30m2 of screwed down medium duty raised floor in lift, WC and lobby areas

One question clients ask is why there is the requirement for screwing down the raised floor in WC, lift and lobby areas, the reason being these areas are often covered in ceramic tiles and other hard floor finishes which do not allow for any movement in their structure, the raised floor cannot bounce or rock with a hard finish on it otherwise this will crack leaving a costly repair.

The end client was delighted with the finished result and has already let the space to a creative industry client.
